Good morning!

Hi,
This is my first post after joining the site. A big hello to all my fellow Olds owners! I just purchased a 1967 Cutlass Convertible. I am swapping the 330 for a 455 out of a 69 Delta 88 Royale. I am going to scrap the 69 but I wanted to know if anyone needed parts from it. It is complete except for motor and trans. I also need the pulleys and brackets for the 455. Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to CO.
I think you will need the frame pads off the 69
if your going to use the 455 motor mounts.

Engine swap

Thanks for the info. Both engines are ready to come out so I will check the frame pads.

Engine swap

Will the 330 engine mounts fit on the 455?

Welcome to the site, I don't believe you need to swap the pads.

Welcome to the site! You can use either engine pads, but be sure you match the rubber motor mount with whichever steel pad you use. What part of the country/world are you in?

I'd encourage you to post parts from the 1969 Delta in the parts for sale section. Not a ton of demand for these items, but not much is being reproduced. So the guys restoring them have to look long and hard for parts. Pretty much anything that looks usable could be offered up. I know the speedometer cable that runs from the dash to the left front wheel is something that's often asked for. Fenders and bumpers if solid, any options, stainless or pot metal trim if good. Let me know if you need help exploring cost effective shipping options. John

One more thing. You can use the pulleys and brackets from the 330 or ones from any 350, 400, 403, 425, 455. Best to use a full set and not try to mix and match them. There are three different water pump lengths and you need to make sure you use the correct water pump for the pulley set. There are some combinations that look close, but if the belt is off by half its width it will wear badly and may be thrown.

Somebody hasn't been paying attention after all these years...

I'll suggest this thread as a refresher.

First, the 1965-70 full size cars DO NOT use "frame pads", so you'll be hard pressed to get them off the donor car. The 65-70 cars use motor mounts with a threaded stud that passes through a hole in the frame and is retained with a nut from the underside. None of that does any good on an A-body.

Once again, simply use the motor mounts that match your existing A-body frame mounts. On a 1967, that would be the Anchor 2261 mounts, which are also what the 330 uses (and the 67 442s used on the 400 BBO motors). People always make the motor mount issue much harder than it is.
