Post GMC Mtr Hm powered via Olds 455

For those who don't know the GMC Motorhome was built by GM from 1973 throug 1977. They were front wheel drive powered with the Olds 455 and later years by the 403. They had the Olds Toronado drive system in them. Their were close to 11,000 built with some 8,000 on the road yet today.

I would be interested in finding a final drive and short shaft from a 1966 or 1967 Olds Toronado to improve my drive system on my 1974 GMC.

If one knows of anyone having one or in which direction I can go to find one I would appreciate it.

Thanks
GMCEd

What's your location? I've got a couple extra transaxles from 1966-67 Toronado's. I'm located in Southwestern Oregon. John

Yes it 's like the one in stripes except it's yellow and black (will find a photo). I live in South Western Michigan. Straight across the lake from Chicago. What would you want for the final drive (3.21 ratio) and the short shaft.

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought nearly 2/3 of them were still around. Rarely saw the GM motorhome here- Winnebago on Dodge chassis were common.

There is a national GMC owners club and they work together to restore these machines and keep them on the road. There is a backlog demand for these from people wanting to purchase them.
