FNG looking for a 442, 68-70

Looking for some advise and tips, I have a limited: major overhaul experience, budget and space. So I'd like to find one running or in need of little cash to get running. As long as I can move (drive) it in and out of the garage my wife will not kill me! Anyone have or know of any hidden gems out there?

Joffroi, Sacramento, CA, I exchanged emails with you on OldsmobileCentral, regarding a 422 in Scal that was easily in my price range but expired.

I have a max of about 8K, to get it to NorCal, running and driveable. It's a tall order but I've been told there are lots out there in great shape in my range, I've just got to, "Dig."

I have what you seek but you will have to "Dig" a little deeper in your wallet

I take it you are talking about your 68 richard? As far as shipping a car goes i will say this. If you are off of a major interstate that goes cross country, like I 10 that spans the width of USA, then you are kinda in luck for shipping. I shipped my rallye from Miami area to here in San Antonio and it was only like 600. Budy of mine bought a 67 or 68 cougar xr7 and it cost him about the same amount to same area but he bought his out of arkansas some where so it was a custom route. Hope this helps some in your search.

Yea the 68. I hope to have good pictures and listed in the next week or so. If I can I am going to try to bring it out to the zone show even if its just for one day.

Gearheads78, I wish I had more to work with but that is what I had to slowly/quitely put to the side over the last year. Just have to get one home (the right one) before my wife finds an emergency to spend it on!

No big deal. You might consider just a regular Cutlass. You can get quite a bit of car for 8K that way.

Sicky olds, great looking rides on the FB page! There are two a 68 and 69 that I will be looking at within the next two weeks. Both are listed above my range but very close to range and running. Gotta start somewhere!

Are you talking about the South Texas Oldsmobile club page or mine lol. And if you arent worried about numbers matching or anything like that i concur with Richard on getting a regular cutlass. Best part about those, pick up a nice one that no one wants cause it has a 350, then drop a 400/455 in it .
