Finally.....

Figured out how to upload pictures!

My pride and joy, note I couldn't find a grille emblem so I used my local car club logo, I hope the purists among you can forgive me.
Now Ive managed to grasp how to do it I intend to put up a few more.

Roger.

Nice to finally see your ride Roger. If I see an emblem at the boneyard, I'll try to snag it for you. IMO, what you did for the grill is creative and much nicer than leaving an obvious blank spot. Good for you!

I'm not 100% sure, but is it an 85? I'm guessing that by the rear taillights and backup lights in the bumper. I seem to recall that was the first year Olds downsized the Delta.

I Think it's an '87 model Allan, here's how I decoded the VIN 1G3HY1438H1804106 (according to my Krause standard catalog);
1G3 - Oldsmobile division.
HY - Delta 88 Royale Brougham.
1 - Two door sedan/coupe
4 - Automatic seat belts.
3 - 231 V6 fuel injection
8 - check digit.
H - '87 model year (it might have been built in late '86).
1 - Either built in Wentzville, Mo. or Oshawa, Ontario. I would guess Wentzville because the speedometer is in mph rather than kph.
804106 - sequential serial number.

I understand 1986 was the model year Delta 88s switched to its new platform, 98s had done so for the 1985 model year.

If I've got any of this wrong I welcome corrections.

The correct emblem would be welcome if you come across one, thanks.

Roger.
