I finally got my 50 Olds 88 Coupe

I finally got my 50 Olds 88 club coupe, some photos on the trailer from Fla and in the garage with a cool Nevada plate i got from Oregon. Now all thats left is to work on it. Have some NOS trim parts, need to ID the motor & see if it turns over and work on it a little at a time

Nice project

Love that car--I am old enough to remember washing and waxing one just like it brand new. I worked in a Shell Station in California at the time. At 35 cents and hour one was out of the question for me. Could not wait to drive it into the bay for a lube job. Of course it had to be road tested for the coustomers safety. Wow. do a great job on it it's a beauty. Andy

That is a pretty car. It looks pretty solid for such an old car too. That Super Deluxe radio is something else. You definitely need to have the radio restored so it works again.

Looks very solid,Most of the ones ive found around have no rockers & not much left in the 1/4s. If you get to the point you want a NOS viable Hood we have one located in Ohio

50 88 coupe

Yea, I'm pumped i had 2 50 coupe's in Chicago way back $125 each.
A gray primer one it had a newer 4 barrel & manifold on the 50 303 V8 & Zephyr gears he said.

This one has plain green valve covers with the vertical embossed where they bolt on, square bore manifold, the motor is just laying in there no trans. There auto flywheel that bolts to the old cast iron hydro is there.

The car needs quite a bit of work. I'm glad to have it. The radio cost me $5.00 out of a pile of $5.00 radios. just Lucky on that one

My 1st Olds coupe > 60 miles per hour in first gear > hit 2nd, and i was at the stop sign, the Speedo read 60 > not sure if it was the true speed.

It was a fun car it looked just like this one, had Red rims.
This will look just like my 1st Olds for a while, until it's painted all Black

That would make it a Ford trans. Cheaper and easier to find, than a Cad, Buick, or Packard.

Front bumper is not Olds.

Probably a Chev or Pontiac. About 20 lbs lighter, and easier/cheaper to get re chromed.

Much bigger because of the tubes, the main board was mounted vertically.

And the loudspeaker was mounted inside the case, behind all those holes in the front.

Just cool

Norm, Man now thats a beauty! a gray primed coupe > Choice! I like that baby

it's a lot like my 1st 50 Olds coupe except it had Red rims and no radius, it was fast, but not as fast as the one below

Someone thought the front bumper was 55-56 Plymouth - getting a Olds on the front later
