May be in the wrong place.
As I looked around the forum I wondered if I might be in the wrong place. Seems most everyone is all about oldsmobile as from the factory. I bought mine and modified liberally. When I had the body off the frame I flattened the firewall for those roller rockers. The a body front suspension had to go and replaced with fatboy. The 350/350 setup was replaced with modified 455 and turbo 400, neither stock. The backend was made snug with all sorts of braces and the dash is set up with dakota digital. Vintage air was necessary in texas. This may all be a restorers no no, but I kinda looked at it as a piece of oldsmobile hotrod art. Kinda what might have come special from the factory if decompression and the feds had left us to our own devices. So the question is, is there room for someone who is not pure of mind but pure of heart?

I think the term they use for what you are doing is restofying or something like that. Since you kept it Olds powered, you shouldn't get any grief from most of the folks here unless you put 24 inch wheels on it. There are several of us here that have 71 and 72 convertibles.
Welcome to the site and we look forward to seeing pictures.

Hello from the Plano viscinity!
X2 on what redoldsman mentions about stock vs custom.
I prefer all stock, but my car is not. The main thing is the hobby itself and keeping Oldsmobiles on the road. Custom can be tasteful if done right.
