Car chick, 1980 Cutlass
Hello All,
*First Post*
I've just bought a 1980 Olds Cutlass, I sold my 67 Chrysler Newport and bought the Olds recently. I'm a classic car female although I have owned a Supra as well. Cars are my life. I moved from California to Kuwait in 2004, the car scene here is not as good as the US but they try. My Olds had been sitting for 10 years, the front end suspension has been replaced, new brakes, next will be the back end check, and replace all rubbers and seals. It has T Tops, electric windows, 305 engine and bucket seats, not sure if it originally had a bench seat. I've found a weather strip kit for the T Tops, trunk and doors on Ebay for 400$. I'm looking for the window sweeps. I had an 84 Cutlass back in the 90's and parts are plenty for those years but the 1980 is proving to be a bit difficult. Any recommendations on stores that sell accessories for a decent price?
It looks a little better now, will upload more pictures as the work progresses.

Welcome. the paint and wheels indicate a 442, but the lack of any exterior badging makes me think otherwise. If a 442, it should have a 350 under the hood. Realizing that this is an export car, I am not sure on that though.

Grille is from a Supreme, not a Calais. Doesn't mean it's not a 442 as sometimes parts availability, or non-availability makes a difference.
If it is indeed a 442, the VIN should be like this: 3K47RAMXXXXXX with the 3= Oldsmbile, K= Cutlass Calais, 47= 2 door notchback, R = 350 engine, A for 1980 model year, and M for Lansing plant--- thus a 442. Only 442 had the 350 in the Cutlass Calais body.

If it isn't a typo, and it's a 305, it's likely it was never a 442 unless someone was so goofy to put a 305 in place of the 350 if it actually is a 442.
Also, the use of the word Cutlass to describe it also is ominous. There would be 442 emblems on the door panels if it was a 442. Again, anything could be changed on the car, but that VIN check is the best way to tell. If it is a 3R47....then it's a Supreme.
