California Olds nut

Hi my name is Paul, I have belonged to this site since 2010 but this is my first post. My family on my dad's side have been Olds owners since 1956, my grandparents bought a new Olds about every couple of years, there were two years 1963 and 1967 they bought a car, didn't like it and traded it right back in again. I owned a 59 Olds 98 convertible for 24 years, and currently own a 60 Olds 98 2 dr. hardtop that can be seen on google images for 60 Olds, it's the copper color car on the site. My dad's 59 98 was used for the Kathy Mattea song 455 rocket, and has been since sold to someone in Sweden. I learned to drive on my dad's 62 Olds 98 2 door hardtop it was a surf green (mint green) car, of which I have never seen a 2 door in that color. I would someday like to duplicate the car, it was a real looker. Well, look forward to enjoying this site, there are a lot of interesting and fascinating people and beautiful cars.

Do you mean they bought Oldsmobiles that they ended up not liking and traded them right back in again? Which Oldsmobiles, what didn't they like about them, and what did they trade them for?

Inquiring minds want to know!

My grandparents bought Kaiser Manhattans before the Oldsmobile. My grandfather bought a new 63 Cutlass convertible without my grandmother with him, and she hated it because it was too small, she was used to the big cars, owned it for about 4 months, and traded in on a 63 Luxury Sedan. In 67 they bought a new delta 88 green 4 door hardtop she called it the green hornet, that car everytime it rained the trunk leaked and the dealer never could get it to stop, so they traded it in on a 67 Luxury Sedan. Their first olds was a 56 88 2 dr. sedan. Great Cars.

This isn't my car, but I do know the guy that owns it. If you look again there are three or four pictures of it from different angles at a all GM show in the park. The license plate starts with PHA. Paul
