another newbie checking in
Greetings! I am Dan and own a 72 Olds Cutlass Supreme convertible and have so for nearly 10 years. My immediate issue is locating a frame as mine had a bit of rust when I got the car but it has progressed over the years. It's not pretty but it starts, runs, and is perfect for evening cruises in the early fall weather.

Used to be but fate handed me a pile not too long ago.

Welcome.
The car looks pretty good to me too.
Be careful, the last guy ruined his fax machine trying to send Jamesbo some kind of sandwich from Pittsburgh.
Better off scanning the crabs then sending them as a zip file.
There seems to be a lot of people needing convertible frames here lately?
How far are you willing to travel or have it shipped?
There were a couple on Craigslist in Florida last time I looked, a few others around the USA.
Search "convertible frame" on Craiglook and you can see them all in one place, you have to search through all the convertible top frames too but no big deal.

thanks for the link....I guess if I had to travel a couple of hundred miles I wouldn't mind that so much. Shipping is an option always but I would prefer to be able to inspect and avoid the extra cost if possible. I am looking casually now but will turn the heat up in the early spring. Hopefully I can find someone around here who knows what they are doing to pull this thing apart and put it back together. Next decisions...the much needed body work and paint? New top? Or sell it and go buy something nicer?

Welcome. You're making the car sound like a real dud. Yet it looks great in the photos. A prime candidate for eBay
I guess if you're talking about new frame, bodywork & paint then there's no doubt other stuff that needs doing too. Would it be worth your while finding a nice straight, solid 72, the yin to your yang, and building one from 2? You gotta love 'em and there are a stack of 72 owners here who will agree in due course I'm sure. The triple black looks awesome.
