Question 87 Cutlass Supreme Heater Core

I am brand new to the Classic Olds forum and just purchased a 1987 Cutlass Supreme 4dr, 67,000 miles, at an estate sale. This car has sat for the last three years and the lady who owned it (2nd owner) passed away recently. While looking the car over I noticed that the heater core appears to be leaking. I have looked online and can still get the heater core but cannot find information on removal and installation. It is located inside the housing for the A/C on the firewall. Is it accessed from the firewall side or from inside the car? Any tip would be greatly appreciated. Great to be a member!

If you plan to spend any time at all working on this car, this will be, by far, your best friend. This one is $27 with free shipping.

Congrats, and good choice on getting the service manual. The good news is that heater core replacement on that car is pretty easy. You access it from under the hood, removing the cover on the HVAC module to access the core. The manual will show you where the fasteners are located.

Thanks Joe. I could see the screws around the cover.
