72 Cutlass speedometer

I just bought a 1972 cutlass speedometer off eBay and the odometer is reading 30k miles. Is there any way to zero out the odometer?

This vid shows the procedure. Easy enough but take your time. Yeah this says Mustang, but it's the same for GM.

I've done this many times. I'll add that there are thin plastic strips between the wheels on the odo drum that lock the wheels in place. Be very careful not to break these strips, and to get them back into place properly. Other than that, it's pretty easy.

If the numbers need freshening they can be obtained from Bob's Speedometer (it's a tape on over top of the old ones. Usually it's the '10'ths that turn yellow instead of staying white.
