72 Cutlass barn find.

I am a Chevelle Fanatic BUT all A-Bodies are acceptable.
Well i have been working on getting this last plated in 2007 bronze beauty for about a year. It came dusty and bruised but had its papers in order. Included a set of color matching rallies and other old and new parts. It has 71 heads and told 71 engine .030 with Edelbrock intake topped with a Holley. Converted to HEI distributor. Many options were ordered like sport mirror, tilt wheel, buckets/console, map light, compartment lights, AC PS Disc brakes.... it also has what I believe is the black 442 grill. What it is missing are the head light benzals, LR marker lights, ash tray cover, radio and RH Sport mirror. Spent the day sponge bathing her while charging battery and overall inspection taking notes an pics. Shes not perfect and has her wounds for being 52. Not sure of my plans but I hope to have as much fun with it and here on this site as I do on the Chevelle forum. I have been wrench on A-bodies since 81.
1 problem I discovered is when the head light switch is on, all 4 tail lights flash. ?? Other wise all lights work fine besides no dash lights or LH turn indicator.
where is the Car Vin and casting date on engine block.

Looks like you're off to a good start with that one, glad it's life as a table has come to an end!!! I'll look forward to watching your progress on it.

The grills are for the '72 Cutlass Supreme, a common replacement during repair work.

Welcome aboard! Good looking project car! Generally clean; hopefully not too much rot hiding there.

Congrats, but don't be surprised to find a lot of fiberglass and bondo under that repaint. Also look for pinchweld rust around the windshield and back window. You'll have to pull the stainless trim off to find that. Good luck.

no xcess mud. New 1/4s were hung prior to 2001. You can see in the pics the close up of dings backing that. But yes not perfect and has baggage. 4th pic is damage from tire coming lose.

Nice car! I had a 72 Cutlass S back in the mid 70s, a great car! It too had the Supreme "egg crate" grill but it was silver, not black. I think black may have been the 442 grill alright.

Nope...the 442 grill is nothing like the CS egg crate.

It was common practice to blacken out the grills back in the day.
