70 Cutlass steering column
#4
The 1969-1972 A-body steering columns all interchange, and the 73-77 columns will work - only the arm that the backdrive linkage attaches to is different. A floor shift tilt column will be expensive when you find one. The rack is the same on any 1969-77 tilt column if you just want to replace that part.

You might want to brush up on your search engine skills. This was the second link that came up in a Google search for "gm steering column parts"

Here's the part in a kit for $20:

Joe,
I know they will all physically interchange, but what about the difference between some/all? Oldsmobile columns where the ignition rod moves forward when you turn the key to the start position & the ones where the rod moves backward in start position. I've seen many of these columns & it seems like some/all? of the Chevy, & maybe other makes, versions move backwards??? But then I think I've seen some Chevys where they move forward? This chages the way the actual ignition switch works. Do you turn the switch around backwards? or move a wire or two in the connector?
Also, the steering arm at the bottom is shaped differently on some makes/models. Does this affect the backdrive linkage or attachment there of or will all of them attach with no probems?
