What do I have? 1970 Cutlass Supreme

Ether some one ordered a very optioned convertible or someone has added a lot of things to this car, and did a really good job. It's a 1970 Cutlass Supreme Convertible with the wide side chrome. Duel Gate shifter, 12 bolt rear, front and rear sway bars, W-25 hood, W-31 forced air, no a/c, no 442 rear bumper, 350 4bl w/#6 heads and duel ex. I bought the car two weeks ago and was going to redue the interior, but started looking and all this stuff seems factory.

Welcome to the group. Stockbridge here. Sounds like a nice car, this wouldn't happen to be the bamboo car from NJ/Pennsylvania, would it?

All of those things could have been bought on that car originally (I think the #6 heads are stock 350 1970 heads aren't they?) But I kind of doubt the ram air hood was. But who cares, sounds like a nice car, the hood is actually a W25 hood (W25 is the option code for the hood alone) W31 is a Cutlass performance option that came with the hood, different heads, carb etc.

I was told the same heads but with the 455 valves . the hood and the latches and everything look factory . can't see the engine numbers yet, like you said it doesn't matter I just didn't want to start doing things to a car and it being a nice one with those factory options .

Possibly factory:
Dual Gate
12 bolt cover/10 bolt gear (they all were in '70)
Dual exhaust

Not factory:
W25 hood
W31

#6 heads are 70 350 heads. There is a 70 Vert here in town that was bought from an older lady and has full documentation. It is a documented W-25 Rally Red car.

Thanks, I'm still trying to track down the past owners, took out the interior , no build sheet. Doesn't have the tic toc tack so I am in doubt it's a w-31.. but could be a real w-25 convert..... still I really like it.

It is not a W31. I told you that and gave you a link that verifies what I said. There is not any believing or doubting to it. The ttt has nothing to do with being a W31 or not. Please look at the resource material I gave you the link to. It tells you all of this. You can see for yourself.

No stupid questions said, but there's plenty of overzealous folks who think they have something that simply isn't. While there's plenty of resources that may contradict each other, you have several at your disposal to help you figure some things out. When confused, post some more questions (and possibly prepare to be more confused!)

FWIW, just because something "looks factory" doesn't mean it is. Anyone can build a car.
