70 Cutlass Conv't

I have bought a '70 Cutlas Supreme Conv't. I know the engine has been switched but unsure what year engine it was replaced with. The numbers on this engine are 39558-293CFD.
I know horse power dropped from '71 on, and that's why I want to know what yr this engine is.
Can anyone help with this info?

We would need to know the number here:

Photos wouldn't hurt either.

Thanks guys. I knew it was a 350 but will have to check for numbers where you indicated and get back. Thanks again.

That pad is hard to see with the PS pump in the way. Clean it first and try a mirror or sticking a small camera down by it. The motor may have been rebuilt before going in the car which could change HP from how it was originally.

Welcome....post some pics of your car. My neck is still sore trying to read engine numbers , ESP when the motor is still in the car
