70 442 w30

New member, I hear I have to post 5x here before I can post to the real site... Not a problem.

I have a 70 W30, and the the car is about an 8-9 out of a 10.
I'm sure you'll see some obvious mistakes from the guy that restored it...
Pick them out if you can, I'll fixl them in the future, if not fixed already.
I need some assistance for the 442 rear springs too, post to follow!

This car could be for sale soon too.

Awesome car! I love Sebring yellow cars. I am no expert but the only thing that i can spot right away is the positive battery cable should run over the valve cover on manual cars. Again, very sweet car!

Correct.. and the cowl should be black, under hood also Leaving that.
Cowl is now black, not a fun job...100 degrees and humid, but NO wind
The windshield washer bottle should be on the other side too.
Here are a few pics...

Oh, here it is!
Very sweet Mark.
A W-30 or 69 H/O has always
been on my wish list since I missed out
on a 70 W back in 79 for $1850.

Of course back then they were just
used cars...If we only knew.

I think the washer bottle is on the correct side for non air cars? But i am not positive. Is the motor the correct color or the way the camera took the picture? It looks like a Pontiac color and Oldsmobile is a little darker?

Not sure, I questioned the water bottle? You might be right.
THe motor paint is darker than the picture, and paint is from FUSICK.
I can live with the color....
The COWL needed painting BLACK, and under hood but I'm leaving that yellow it's so perfect.

The bottle location is not an AC or non AC item. It is a 350 vs 455. 350s have the bottle located on the drivers side and on 455s it was moved to the passenger side whether the car had AC or not. Though I have seen a few cars with 455s and the bottle on the drivers side. Mine included and I have the original inner red fender wells and there are no holes on the passenger side so mine is staying put on drivers side. This car looks like it has repo red fender wells so who knows where it was originally mounted. It also has 71/72 or repo fenders. But a really nice car and an 8-track in a four speed with a bench - way cool!!!

Great color combo.

I'd also say the location of the bottle lowers the value by 15k at least so I'm first in line if that discount is applied

Hey Steven, thanks for the info and compliment, I do love the bench seat 4 speed, and it's a ' - - ' original W30. No build sheet, that dings the car with the Olds people.
They are the repro latest version red inner wells (others were too faded) and where the bottle on this car was originally, so who knows, it really doesn't bother me, thought about moving it just to balance the look a bit, hahahahha... All sheetmetal was purchased from a GM dealer in the 80's OEM, except one of the quarters (which was NA), which I got from AZ.
Explain the fenders, how do you know, what's the difference?

Hood is a Thornton Repro (which is flawless, and anyone that knows about them... they are THE BEST ), the OEM hood was a bit warped. This car has been in the family since the early 80's, knew the original owner...the initial restoration was just to make a fun daily driver, that quickly disappeared... it's not a 10 out of a 10, but I'd give it a 8 out of a 10 (and I'm pretty picky). The guy tha painted it, not a restoration shop either, but did an awesome job. Only mistake I made was not getting new doors. It has new skins (GM), but the fames were a bit rough so the guy filled the seam on the inside of the door skin to the door, ugh... definitely looks like crap. I do not dare repaint and blend to fix this... I'll live with it. If sold, it's in my opinion a 35k car, others have said 40, I'm not sure... market is not like it was, and the generation for these cars is disappearing. The Gbody cars are the future big dollar car. My 83 Hurst Olds is absolutely flawless, I'll take a picture of them together and post soon.

W30

First pass Restoration 20 years ago, I did it black with gold stripes.
Won about every car show in this area. My dad owned it then, sold it back to me, it was time to get it back to Seibring Yellow.
The black was INSANE! The Yellow, I always liked an it's what the car shoudl be
