67 cutlass 330 4bbl

Recently I purchased a 67 cutlass and there was an adapter plate on the intake with a 2bbl on it. I bought a q-jet and rebuilt it(7027036), but now there is no spot to hook up the throttle cable. I searched the numbers for the carb and it says that it fit this exact year and engine. Any suggestions?

67 did not use a throttle cable. They all used a rod to the throttle linkage at the firewall. I can do this set up if you need it.

email me direct: lemoldsnut@aol.com

Thanks

Welcome to the site. The 67 did not use a cable it had a throttle control rod that came off of an actuator for the transmission torque converter and passing gear if equipped with an automatic, or a belcrank assy for a standard.

Yes as state above the control rod assy can be easily modified to allow for a use with your q-jet or in my case a Holly 750. I post a pic tomorrow.

Do you guys know of a website I could buy a throttle rod from, or am i better off searching some junkyards for a mid-late 60's GM and grab a rod off that?

It sounds to me that you are missing a piece on your carburetor where the throttle rod attaches.

Sounds like lemoldsnut has the setup you need. The piece you need on the carburetor has a plastic eyelet where the throttle rod attaches. The throttle rod, bellcrank and accelerator peddle mechanism are specific to what transmission you have.

There are many members that probably have the linkage set for your car. Place a parts wanted ad. The bushing looks like this and can be had at your local parts store, summit or jeggs:

So this grommet sits in the throttle lever of the carb and then the rod fits through the opening and attaches back at the firewall?

Based on the picture you provided to me you have the rod on backwards and you are missing the pivot ball on the linkage at the firewall. Otherwise what you have is correct.
