Welcome to CO from the left coast

As the owner of a 48 olds series 76 2DR sedanette I understand your do understand the issues with the older Olds. Very little if any after market support. Craigs list e-bay internet search finding old wrecking yards and networking with other Olds owners is you best bet. You can find a few parts at Kanter & Fusicks. Check out https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...-own-them.html in the vintage Olds sub-forum that's where most of the fat fendered guys hang out

Nice car!
Please don't ruin it by "restomodding " it.

do not let the pictures from a distance fool you. The previous owner,a cheap bastard, did not replace rusted metal.he caked bondo over it. Closer inspection would show you all the bubbles and rust coming though that great paint job.

Either way you will need to do body work.
Mechanical parts are the easiest to find. (If you even need any)
Egge Machine , for mechanical parts
LeBaron- Bonney, for interiors.
Rhode Island wiring
Steele Rubber products, for weatherstrip.

Thanks charlie for that great information.the 41 is in really good shape.my son is a good body man,he told me the car was a easy fix.what i want is a dependable driver that i'm not scared to drive 500 miles in.or fear it will break down on the way to a car show.that's the reason i'm thinking restomod. Nice 350 and 700r tranny, upgrade brakes and steering for safety.nothing fancy.

If you go through it mechanically, and do everything right. This car can be dependable as any modern car. People drove these cars all over the place 70 years ago.
If you do decide to go to a 350 and 700r, DON'T subframe it. And keep the the original motor and trans. This way someone might be able to restore it properly someday.

I agree with you completely.the flathead six and hydramatic will be put in storage .if the car was worth a lot of money i would leave it alone.but completely restored it only worth maybe 15 grand.i would rather have a fun cruiser.these old cars need to be on the road!!

It looks like a nice ride and an easy restoration. You don't see many of these around, I'd consider leaving it stock also.

X2. there cars are getting so few and good samples are very hard to find let alone buy.

Repair it to new standards and drive it as if it were a new car. If you do your part the car will do it's. I take mine on 1000 to 4000 mile trips and seldom have any problems that I wouldn't have with my daily driver....Tedd
