Hey guys- this is my first Olds 88 and first post here on the forum.
I've had the car for a couple years now and drive her every weekend. Haven't had to do anything more than basic tune type stuff. I've been collecting the parts to make the carb 2 to 4 barrel swap and wanted to ask you veterans for any tips before I start the swap.
1. Found a 4 barrel carb/air filter and intake off another 56. Already had the intake dipped. Took it to a machine shop and it's perfectly straight. It's primed and ready to be painted. Bought the engine paint from Bill Hirsch.
2. The 4 barrel Rochester was rebuilt by a local shop and looks brand new.
3. Purchased the intake gaskets, a super thick carb gasket, new thermastat, and stat housing from fusik.
Questions:
1. Will my current throttle and kickdown linkage match up to the new 4 barrel??
2. Will the Existing fuel line need to be changed out?
3. Is there anything different about the vacuum lines?
4. Should I have anything else done while it's open besides cleaning the sludge out?
my car is bone stock-
thanks for your help!
Brian
