1951 Olds '98' group?
Hi--newby here and hoping to see if there is a group restoring '51 Olds. Have some questions about sources to get various parts and maintaining the car, when and if I need them. thanks

Welcome to CO. We do have members that own or have owned fifties a era Oldsmobile, but no group per-say. Just post your needs and questions and see what happens. As for Parts, Fusicks and Kanter are always recommended.

Jean ed, A lot of us that are lost in the fifties hang around the vintage olds forum , but most any forum that looks like it might apply will get you to some one that can help you. Good fokes here and welcome aboard. ...Tedd

Do you get a "group" rate on your therapy sessions???
Hi jean ed!! Welcome to our site! We are an entertaining bunch! Citcapp has an "older than yours" car, but he's out of town. He'll be happy you joined us! Watch out for Redgoat.....

New Runabouts to Rockets has a feature on a 1950 Ninety Eight ragtop. Gorgeous car. NAOC membership is a worthwhile investment for the pre-1966 Olds owner www.antiqueolds.org and here's the '50 http://antiqueolds.org/PDF/feb-2010-b.jpg .
Look in the model year advisors and you may see some familiar names.

Greetings!
The '50 and '51 98's were the last to be distinctly different from their lower series bretheren, not just lengthened versions. What body style is your '51? I have a '50 2dr Club Sedan project car; my brother has a '50 Holiday; I also have a '51 4dr parts car. Feel free to shout out if there is any help I can offer.

Welcome to Co
Lots of early Olds owners on the site but no single year group (the 69 owners like to think their cars are special but the rest of us know otherwise) forums. Post some pictures and post your parts wanted list and you will get some responses.

jean_ed Could you post a picture of the hood latch panel (On body where hood latches, covers area in front of radiator). Mine was removed to repair headlight wiring sometime in the past. It was lost, and I have to fabricate one. I have looked all over for an original replacement no luck.

thanks everyone re: 51 Olds
Just got back and see all the messages. Really appreciate it! It's a 4 door sedan. I will get a photo or two of it, including the hood latch area. I'm not sure if this message gets through to all of you, but hope so.

thanks: still looking!
Hi-- tried Kanter and Fusicks. No longer carrying what I'm looking for: a horn (6 volt) and front driver side striker plate for door. Any ideas welcome! Also, having trouble uploading photos of my car.

Hey! I resemble that remark Jean_ed welcome!

Figured out how to upload photo. Here it is
4 door 1951 Rocket '98' One owner (family car). 90,000 miles. The horn doesn't work. 6volt system. Will a Chevy or other GM horn work, and where can I find one. Also need a striker plate for left side door (either front or back will work). Thanks everyone!

If the '46 needs complete latch, I may have seen one in junk yard yesterday. The chrome was crummy looking though.
