Hi Everyone, I pulled it home yesterday and getting thing situated in the pole barn. Im in the process off taking everything apart to get the body and frame ready for media blasting. Floor and trunk pans are gone. Rockers, doors and fenders are in great shape. Quarters are good other then behind the rear wheel. I have been searching around on the net for pans and quarter patches. I found a lot of floor pans but nothing for the quarters. I guess I'm looking for anyone's thoughts on where to get sheet metal. I'll post up some pics soon.

We want to follow your progress as well. I would suggest to post

Its for my dad, he had to sell his when he went Vietnam in 67. Hopefully give him some enjoyment in his final years. I love the 65...not to big and not to small.

That car was in TX right? I believe the seller had a few decent cars for sale. I read that ad a few times when I was stopped in TX on a roadtrip this month. Great look and should be excellent when done!!

Welcome! There are a lot of us 64/65 guys here. It'll be tough to find lower rear quarter patches - tough but not impossible. Your pic of the car on the trailer struck a chord with me...

Sheet metal is not available only good used is the trunk pan is the same as most A body's of the same year

Ask 2blu442 if he still has the 64 quarters they were a little rough, but solid if I remember correctly .

I did fab up my right rear quarter, out of door skin and parts of two fenders a few flaws and a little goofy, but the trim covered most of it. if you spend some time very possible to do a great job

Could you do me a favor ? I need to add the window trim clip for my rear window and I need the measurement for the bottom ones in the corner if you could post a clear pic with a tape measure in the lower corner for me about 8 inches worth it would be great

Well I thought about both options but I wanted him to take part in the whole project. The original color was dark blue with lite blue interior...his was dark blue with black interior. I want to do it as much as I can like his was.

Nice! Hey I had that car for a while too. I pulled it home from the Nashville Tennessee area.
When he bought it from me it still had the 4 speed console in it, but he sold it separately for some reason.
Good luck with the car, it is a solid car, just needs the trunk and floor help.

It's early years 64-67 a few great guys that are in it for the hobby it's worth looking into I have found great parts

Toms65, You may want to look into my thread in Major Projects titled "update progress on 64 F-85 Post" Tons of pictures and dialog. Ames Performance is a great source for parts with great prices. Alot of 64-65 Tempest, Lemans-GTO parts are the same. Very nice car to start with!

In my opinion the '65 442 was the best of all. Wicked fast and easy to drift while accelerating through the corners. Too many of them went to the circle track or got cut up for the drag strip. I hope you like yours, cause I sure do.

Keep the pics coming. My first "modern" car was a '65 4-4-3 convertible with a 4 speed. I have always like the '65 body style best.

Beautiful cars! I love the stance of the 65...I like the midsize look of the 65s.

I converted to disc brakes and set the engine in the frame. Drilled and tapped a hole in the starter for the starter brace. Fabricated a heat shield being so close to the manifold. Flywheel and clutch are mounted. Now I'm looking through my parts for clutch and shifter linkages. Brake lines, fuel lines and exhaust system is here so they will be going in soon.
