Finally got my car home now what!

Bought this car offline. Got it home added a battery, gas and turned the key.

http://youtu.be/hjbZMWtRlYQ

Its a 71 (with a 70 bumper I might sell) I was told the 350 rocket ran but I was given no guarantee. It has some upgrades and sounds like it has a cam. There's allot of work to come and I'm looking forward to every minute of it......I think

Congrats on your purchase. Before you start ripping it apart decide what your goals are. Do you want a pristine show car or a cruise night driver? Some people get all gassed up that every car needs to be a factory correct body off resto but you have to do the car the way you'll enjoy it. Be realistic about your time, your finances & your skills. You'll have a lot to buy (a lot of it more expensive then you think) so make your priority list & go from there. Talk to people in your area & get referals for guys that do quality work on classic cars.

Reminds me of my first pink Olds. I want it!

I so wanted to tape up that bottle and take off but im resolving a brake issue before I get it going. Might be done today tho!

Good luck and have fun.
Now take a good picture of cowl tag near the driver wiper and let's figure out what you have.
I am curious to what you have for an engine. Is it really a blue 350 olds or something else?
A good shot of the engine would help too.

If I could I would.....Man I need to get the brakes together and then i'm ready. I tested them and they went straight to the floor.....Well it has no brake fluid and I hope thats the only prob. (Disc brakes to come soon) This will be a driving project that should evolve into a pro touring driver.

Does any one know if a top frame from a 69 will fit on a 71?

Highly doubt it. Fluid had to go someplace. Don't eff around with brakes.

Well, I invite confirmatory input from others here.

Far as I know, the entire convertible top, all the glass, and most of the running gear, including the frame, will interchange on all 1968-72 A-bodies of similar body style (ie: convertible windshields are different from the rest, etc.).
