'66 442 - Finished and I drove it to....
The Woodward Dream Cruise from Southern California and back. The only failure was a right rear axle bearing that I had to address in Illinois on the way back to Cali. Gas mileage was terrible, 10.6 . Maybe I should have swapped that rear end out... I hope this link works to the pics of the car and a BIG SHOUT OUT to Ron Roth, my savior in helping me out....

Awesome car , great pictures .
I would say this explains what you did on your summer vacation this year !
It might be enlightening to hear your observations on many of the Good , Bad , and Ugly moments you had .
That engine ( Looks beautiful ) and potential gearing combination probably led to many gas station stops . Miles per gallon reports , States you remember , general craziness of the road ! AND , it looks like you created
your own Hot Rod Power Tour .
I like your style ... AND , I heartily agree , Ron Roth is currently saving my 1967 442 Dash and Wiring woes .... Great people to know ..
Amazing story . Thanks , Jim .

Thank you...
for the replies and comments and compliments regarding my car. As many of you know it's a labor of time, sweat and money. It was a fabulous trip from Escondido Ca. to Detroit Mi. and back. We took kinda the southern route thru Az NM Tx Ok Mo IL In and then up to MI. we saw some neat places and of course junk yards on the way and way back. The Woodward Dream Cruise north of Detroit is by far far far the best car event anyone will ever go to for viewing cars and meeting car people. Racing is fun and I enjoy that as well, but to see all those cars in one place is absolutely amazing. We took close to 2000 pics on the way there, there and on the way back. I strongly recommend everyone do the Woodward Dream Cruise at least once in their life. We even met a guy and his family at the cruise with a '66 442 same color and tri-carb as mine. He had different wheels than mine but it was cool to park next to each other and get pics and spend time with him and his family. We really enjoyed ourselves and saw some cars I hadn't seen in years and a few I had never seen before but had only heard about. I'd post a link to the pics but there's just too many and I wouldn't know which ones to pick. Thank you for all who helped. Ron, John, Rambow and others that know who they are. This car I really never wanted to do but circumstances left me no choice. I'm glad for circumstances. We left with 1995 miles on the car after the rebuild and got back with 7251 miles on her. Avg fuel mileage for the trip was 10.6 MPG running the deuces and a 3:90 to 1 gear. A little over $2000 in gas. Gotta start saving up the nickles dimes and quarters for gas for next years trip to Motor City.
