I believe the early lifters have a different bleed hole/oil groove location than the later .921 lifters. If they are the same the part# would be the same.
The 65 thru 67 lifters provide oil through the holes in the pushrods to the rockers. All replacement lifters made today are the 65 thru 67 type.
The 65 thru 67 lifters will work in a 57 thru 64 engine, although the pushrod oil feed is blocked by the solid push rod end and is not used.
