OK it's wrecked

UPDATE: I'm going a different way as I just bought a 65 Cutlass body has some Calif. rust around windows which can be fixed. I have my 64 F-85 SOLD to a friend and I'm keep the engine, trans. rear end and trading the 4.33 for some 3.91 Olds 12 bolt cover. So I have a 65 Cutlass wrecked but interior is complete and will go into the brown 65 a bolt in swap. as both are 2 DR. HT console, no air just going to replace the heater core when fenders are removed for cleaning. I bought the hood then bought the car that's why it is missing. I'm taking the 7 QT pan off and installing a Toro 5 QT pan much easier to install back in. So I will have 65 parts 4 sale later.

Looks like driver front is the bad side. Passenger door hinge is sagging or is that from the wreck? Looks like a lot of car for 1500.00 though. Nice find.

It's good that someone is actually repairing it and not tempted to part it out...

65 Cutlass

The trunk floor is rusty like most. I'm working on a 65 442 Conv't in my garage right now but will move it in when it is gone. I have the badges for 65 442 to make a 442 and its a Fremont car so just need the frame and 3/8 fuel lines. But it will always be a Cutlass when and if SOLD. I didn't take pics of driver side as it is close to wall.

Seems like a cool project. Kudos to you for being willing to repair a classic that has battle damage. Actually, thanks for not posting detailed pics of the damage, we try to keep this a PG website.

I have two good frames in Central Oregon. Would even consider trades for other Olds parts.

Hi Nick.
Nice car and good starting point for a restoration.
Why do you need to replace the frame?
You can have the frame straightened you just have to find the right person.
This would make a nice 442 tribute car.

Smile another 65 Cutlass

Just bought a 65 Cutlass today and will bring it home Sat. Its just a shell but complete out side and no interior BUT I do have the black 65 with new tan interior on my first post. Here are some pics. It does have some rust in trunk pan and around both front and back windows but can be fixed with the help from the black car. So I have the body, complete interior and the motor out of my 64 drag car just need to put it all together as one car. yes lots of work but I can do it at my age of 69. Yes I bought the hood so lots of 65 parts coming up 4 sale.

Gerald that's some GOOD stuff to work with. The whole world is different when you start with rusted out cars....On my 64 I replaced the section between the tail lights, both doors and left front fender-those parts came to me from "Run to Rund"-Joe a while back when he came to the Dallas Olds Club Regional meet, he brought the parts with him. Also replaced all the floor and trunk braces along with a new floor and trunk! I learned to HATE rust! This baby is back rust free.

No rust that I can see but I'm using it for my parts car. The bumpers will be sold once I get the brown car going. Do you need parts for a 65 Cutlass.

Talking

Its been 11 days sense my home air went out and over 110 deg all week. That wasn't the story as yesterday morning about 12:30 am I had the front door open but the screen was locked. I herd a door close so I went out to check it out. There was someone on the left car drive way so I looked the best I could as my eyes are bad right now, this young girl said what are you looking at OLD man so I just keep looking, she raised up and started calling me names and I still didn't say a word to her. she walked to me and called me more names and flipped her cig. at me then went back across the street. She came out with her boy friend and came up to me on my lawn calling me names. I said get off my lawn she hit me in the eye but the boy friend pulled her home. Then she ran across the street and got a girl friend, but my wife called the police to come. The girl came up to my face so the my wife stuck her hand up to stop her there then she starting the wind mill hitting me I did push her back. The police came in 5 cars about 8 cops. Six of them went across the street to calm them down. Then two walked over to me and we talked. He said they are willing not to press charges on me if I dropped my charge. I calmed down and talked for awhile then I said OK to not pressing charges. They were all over 18. I had a eye app. at 3 pm and had him check my eye out with the marks on my face. All is OK with me and I was told they are all moving out on the first so we'll see if that happens or not. I'll be 70 in Sept. not good on my feet but sitting I'm fine. We are going down to get a restraining order for all 3 after the first if they don't move out. I know I should of pressed charges but wife said no.
PS
As the five cops were in a circle I stepped in the middle and said you guys don't have a set of ***** between all of you. Nothing was done after that as a friend and wife pulled me out then went home.

They are installing a new AC unit so maybe I can keep my front door closed and not get caught up in what goes on outside. I'm fine no cuts well see what happens.

The new AC unit is up and running right now as we went thru the Hero program. My Home Owners might pay for the whole $15,000 install. Things are looking great right now.

YES but I have no money and the wife didn't want to take a second on our house. So $1500 a year isn't bad its coming out of my savings and that's what goes into it. So not a big deal. Sat its going to be 112 deg. so i'll stay inside and enjoy it.

Unhappy

The wife drove my 99 pick up to a church to do some work and the bed was full of bags of food going out in 3 hours she backed up the truck and hit our garage door and bent it up real bad. I called to get it fixed he said $1,200 to replace it and how much to fix it $300 so its fixed an now the wife sees it every time pulling into the garage front. Now my water heater went out right after the garage so I fixed it my self then 3 days later it went out again so I called the plumber in to check he said the dial went out because the garage was to HOT, REALLY. That's another $550 so you know where the money goes. So not doing much on my 65 Cutlass right now but I did pull the buckets and back seats out and panels. Now the ding dong glued the carpet down so cutting it up to get the elect. seat wires out. So here it s today and it rained for the first time in 5 months and the SF Giants didn't start the game till 11 pm. OMG LOL

Geez Gerald if it weren't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all... No, things will only get better now. So you're going to use the wrecked 65 to fix the other 65?? As others have said it must be nice to have the choice between 2 nice ones. Here almost everything is very rusty.

Working hard.

I worked for two hrs today cutting the back window out with a box cutter. They really glued it in as I tried to use a torch but that didn't work at all just the cutter did it. Still up in the air on what to do on repair on rusted back window frame. I'm either going to cut it out with a sawsall or weld in a piece around the top.
