Sicky cant stop: 70 Cutlass S project IRIS

So the gf has caught the bug from me and she wanted a muscle car. Her top picks were:
1. 71 cuda
2. 69 Nova
3. 70 Cutlass
4. 69 Chevelle SS vert

So searching the old craigslist everyday for a while I found a car that was a decent price and on her list. a 70 Cutlass S. went and looked at it and she really liked it. kept asking her if she wanted it and she was all hesitant about saying yes but I could tell she really liked it. as did I. Well a couple weeks went by and she went to vacation in Hawaii. While she was there I executed my plan on getting the car and worked out a deal with the owner. went one day after my roommate got off of work (this was about a 2.5 hour drive). so unloaded it and swapped the wheels from the wagon over to the cutlass and let it sit until she got back.

Boy was she stoked and couldn't believe it was sitting in the driveway. Been a while since I posted on here so I will be trying to keep this one updated with what I do to it. Enjoy for those subscribing

So the first thing that was bugging me was the permanently foggy windows from it sitting for so long. so after many trials and tribulations I found the best thing to work was a headlight restore kit. also hit up some of the chrome on the car as well when I got bored with the windows.

Also if you were wondering how I got the name IRIS. I do this thing where I find a vanity YOM plate for the car and that is how they get their name. LMG= Large Marge for the 72 wagon
Rufus A. = Rufus the A body for the rallye
Swft 1= Swift one for the Monte Carlo
IRIS M= Iris the muscle car for the cutlass

Another thing was the GF was asking about how the can of aircraft stripper works so I showed her on the trunk (after using the pressure washer on it was annoying me of how scaly it was from the paint anyways) so I showed her and primered the trunk. Please note that it is only temporary and to protect it.

Today not only did I do the primer of the trunk but also replaced the drivers side lock so I have a key for it. and if you noticed the bondo that was on the door jamb it was a concern when I got the car but me and the owner agreed it most likely was a dent so the infamous MAW kicked in and I pried off the bondo, and it was a solid metal but dented.

So over the weekend we did some work on the front brakes. The gf has never done brakes in her life but man you would think she was a pro when she did the drivers side all on her own. After she got done with that job she was very excited and you could see the glint in her eye about wanting to do more on it. I think I might have created a monster lol.

We were walking the dogs and she was saying how she wants a convertible now. And I asked her does that mean you want to sell the cutlass and she was like hell no I want that one too lol. You were right Eric when you said she is a keeper

While she was doing the brakes I decided since the radiator has a leak in it that I would swap it out with the radiator in the wagon. Top hose was installed backwards and rubbed against the alternator fan, so that was ready to blow I think if we ran it too long. the bottom hose was pretty soft also along with expanded so I just swapped both hoses as well. No leaking radiator now.

No not yet. Brakes are stiff still. But shouldn't take much to fix that. Ordered new brake lines for the front
