I have been reading post on this forum, and heard of guys catching a case of the "might-as-wells" I must admit that I have it, and I have it bad. I teach school, and I am off for the summer. After having the engine rebuilt, it was time to turn to cosmetic issues, and steering. My car looked ok to the naked eye, but I knew of several imperfections... Never the less, I have torn the car down, and I must repair what I can, due to the lack of revenue. I am beginning to feel overwhelmed by this job, and I need some motivation from the guys here at Classicoldsmobile.com indeed I have a vision, but It is distant.

 

You can always primer it and drive it like a project. Driving it will motivate you like nothing else - but it makes it a lot harder to put her on blocks for a month to do bushings and stuff like that.

Seff is correct. You can always drive it as a project car. Hell, for some of us, no matter how many compliments you get, it's ALWAYS a work in progress. And NOTHING motivates you like driving it does.

And don't get discouraged or overwhelmed either. Keep tackling things one at a time if you must. Each little piece of the puzzle contributes to the grand finale.

 

I know what you mean. I planned to have mine close to done by now. Five year plan is turning into a 10 year plan. It is drivable and safe so I'm having fun with it. life sometimes gets in the way, for me it was a daughter's college education (grad 12/14) but then a wedding for her 3 weeks later. Between the 2 I could had a 442 convertible maybe even a w-30. Oh well she is worth it. It will get done just don't ask when.

I always try to do some small projects in the winter so I can drive it during the summer.

I did my resto in 'small' chunks so that I could drive her in between times. Still have not finished but at least she runs and drives.
