Power window install.

I am going to install factory power windows in my 1971 Cutlass, does anyone know what size hole to punch out in the door and the body, also the location of the holes. Thanks

Not sure if this helps but they are a couple pictures I had on my computer of a 70 SX that I parted out. I think I seen more information on this in the fisher body manual. I know I seen it someplace but not for sure it was the fisher manual.

I removed a complete power window, lock, & bench seat from a '71 Supreme a few years ago & photographed the entire thing as I took it apart for an occasion like yours. Here is the link to the pix, good luck with the project.

i have a nice thorough procedure I can email if you want. Let me know your email address. I think the door is 2 inches and body is 2.25 or 2.5 inch hole [/U]. Those have factory dimples. You'll see 3 dimples on door. Center one locates the center of large hole and outer two are for screws that hold boot on. Body/cowl should have same 3 dimples but hole is bigger.

Thanks for all the replys !!! I will be installing power locks also. I got the harness last night,it looks like from picture from oldspackrat that car has power locks. The harness I got looks to have one section cut off, I'm thinking it's the connector where the relay goes, the pics from oldspackrat show window and locks great pictures.

Drilling body from inside car with door on

Here's what I did to drill out the body side for the power window and lock wiring. I carefully used a 2 1/4 metal hole saw for the large hole and a 1/8 drill for the retaining pins for the boot. In order to transfer the location dimples I used an angle die grinder with a corse 3m pad. Then I ground down the point of the dimple from the inside until it was eventdent that that high spot was wearing thin or went through. Then I took a small pointed punch, and tapped it and there was a small guide hole after that. I still have to do the door I plan on using a greenlee 2 inch punch.
