[new addition] 1969 442 4 speed
While I am at the mercy of the body shop to get my other 69 442 done, I got the itch and came a cross a deal I couldn't resist.
I just closed on a nice 69 442 4 speed trophy blue with white stripes. New Mexico car and a second owner car for the past 20years. The motor in the car is a early 70's 455 with aftermarket intake, carb, headers and flow master exhaust. The seller also included the original 400 (rebuilt) as well as another 455 (rebuilt). I hope to have it back in Houston by the weekend but for now here are some photos.
The seller (older gentleman) decided to recover the seats with custom cloth interior which I will eventually return to the true vinyl. Other than that the car is very solid and has a recent paint job in original color. For the most part this car will be a driver for a while until I get my other car done.

I will say that one of the 455 motors may be on the market considering I am about of space.... To say this is an addiction is an understatement. BTW does anybody know a good transport company running between NM and TX?? Apparently not a very common route with haulers...

Getting Cleaned Up
I pulled the car out of the garage today to give it a good wash and also run the clay bar over the surface to smooth out the minor imperfections. The result is very impressive. I also cleaned out the interior by vacuuming carpet and seats then treating with a deep cleaner.
Next I removed the obnoxious homemade snorkel air cleaner and replaced with a chrome 14". Some cleaning under the hood removed a lot of the New Mexico dirt from the previous owner. Finally, the Rally Pack tach was not working and after tracing the wiring from the back of the gauge to the engine compartment I found the wire need to be replaced.
Probably the extent of what I will do to the car for a while as it is a solid driver.
