We did pretty well.We both took trophies at every show.Surprised my self.I'm in the process of restoring my 71 Firebird.16,000 miles, numbers matching. It was black, will be black cherry pearl candy. Also a custom mix.I like having colors no-one else has as well.I think that's why I like yours so much.Keep going,it's going to be a stunner.

Thanks, my opinion is unless it's a 442 w30 or some rare club coup make it your own. if that's bone stock to pro tour build

I really like stock looks but wheels and paint I love to be my own

I have been prepping the wife for a week now, to let me get all the trim and trunk prepped this weekend as long as spring is still here this up coming weekend

Well got some trim on before snow started up

The front fender trim is disappointing as it doesn't fit well it seems it got twisted with the old fenders

Need to drill for the rear arch molding and still need to put left side trim and wheels on

So I definitely have some kind of olds disorder!!
Found a 69 high compression 455 with C heads
Picking it up Monday! Hoping to sell carb brackets intake manifolds to help recoup funds as this makes number 5 Bbo lol out of the first four I have 3 solid builds luckily they have been fairly cheap
C6AB1821-8974-42D1-9DD8-7B7D70A2CF5F.jpg
Also got a good used set of hooker pro comp headers.
Hoping for some good weather over the next month so I can get this project up and running for the season

[Insert cat-call whistle], she sure is purdy. Love that color! I'll bet your heart beats hard just thinking about getting that engine in. And while we're on the subject; quit hogging all the 455s!

This shot there's some thing wrong with the support it was smashed in and we pushed it up and I think we went a bit to high.

Dude! More details please. I'm getting ready to do this with glass in. What were the most difficult parts? The easy parts? Etc.
Did you throw it in the dryer to warm it first?

Mac, I used my old head liner. I had it in a box folded up and it had a ton of wrinkles and hard lines. I hung it on a wall and stretched it for a few weeks. I bought 144 clips to use the small ones, followed the guys tips from the Chevell thread.
It's ikay but sometimes I am my own Demon as my reinforcement brace was damaged and I corrected the dent in the roof, but the brace sits to high and pulled the liner up a small amount, in that area witch is causing some wrinkles/odd look.

My front window is out and my rear window can be removed. As it's just sitting there not glued in yet. I did it with it in place with no problems. I was struggling getting wrinkles out.my 15 year old came out and helped it went a lot smoother with his help as some times you need an extra hand lol.
Hope it helps but I am sure you will be fine with your patience's and back ground with stretching canvas.

Yeah, I just reread the Chevelle walk-through. Good stuff. I'm confused as to your problem. The roof metal holding the bow clip is now too high? If that's the case, can you remove the clip and add a spacer between the roof and the clip to lower it to the correct position?
I'm gonna' try and get to mine by next week. Can your kids come over to play?

Mac in theory I could, but we added glue to lift the roof off the brace to get it flat. so I can't really pull it down or add a spacer if that makes sense I am thinking of rigging that spot of the bow just haven't played much with it yet.

You can take the kids but must take all at your own risk lol

Looking good, bro! How many clips did you remove at time to add the glue?
Funny how the headliner will probably be one of those things nobody will notice unless it looks bad.

Pretty sure, a shop made the head liner with the interior, both back corners have sewing flaws.
Pulled the best I could and called it done

Should have sprung and bought a new one

Tail lights in.

866189B7-8DAF-466B-A8EC-F3E17DFB0EEB.jpg

I got the brackets off the bent bumper and all the odds and ends

Needs to clean up a few parts and install my core bumper tell I can get the bent one redone

She's running on her own fuel tank once again. I have been playing around with carb and timing settings, man that 330 sounds good, but it's sure is tired from my readings and this little puff of smoke it let's out when you snap the throttle

The headliner looks great. It's one of the hardest things to install without wrinkles. Looks like you'll have her on the street soon.

Actually, now that I've done it myself, I'm wondering how in the H. E. double toothpicks you were able to reinstall the old one with no extra fabric to tug on. That must have been difficult.
BTW, Justin, my new headliner had a couple of sewing flaws.

Lol. Well there was just enough fabric and they never trimmed the front at the a pillers or the sail panels piller side. To be honest, I fought the roof brace the most it's still alittle high, but not much I could do because, it would cause body issues with the roof.

I was surprised how easy it was to stretch and put the clips on with the glass in. I thought I'd really have to fight it. But what I discovered is that the glass needs to be out in order to get the glue in the slots. THAT was the hard part for me.
