Help ID-ing rear end
Help ID-ing rear end
I found a rear on CL an the guy says its a 8.5 10 bolt rear. He also said it will NOT fit a G body car
I emailed him and he doesn't know the rear end ratio but its totally stock with a LSD in it (I know what to look for there)
The code on the axle is "CA C 146"
Does anybody know what kind of car that's from? I found some info that suggests that 146 could be either Jan 4, 1976, 86 or 96. The C could be "buffalo plant" he thinks it might be an A Body rear, which I'm looking for a 73-77 one for my Delta
He wants $300

The "C" is Chevy, and the 146 is the 146th day of the year.
There is a "CA" code in 1965,for a 3:08 posi,which would be an 8.2" 10-bolt.
There is a "GA" code in 1971,for a 2:56 non-posi,which would still be an 8.2" 10-bolt.
I don't have codes for the 73-77 A-body rears, but if it is a 73-77,then it would be an 8.5" 10-bolt.Depending on what it came out of,and what year,it could have c-clips,or bolt-in axles.
Are you able to get a picture of it?
