Hi Erick
What year engine do you want the carb for? I'm not familiar with this one but I do have a couple extras from 1968-72 engines. Your choice $15 plus shipping from Southern Oregon. It would likely be next weekend before I could get some good pictures for you, unless I can find something already on my photobucket site. John

You was told wrong.

They didn't put 425s in F-85s (or any other A-bodies).

A quick google search ("Rochester 2-jet 7036053") reveals that it came off of a '66 425 with A/C and A/T (from an A-body). I believe it says it was made on May 12th, 1972, unless I'm reading the code wrong.

It ought to do the job fine!

Good luck and keep us posted!

- Eric

I have a rebuilt 1970 455 with stock manifold E heads. The only thing about this one is that its freshly pulled so i can give it a light cleaning, toss it on & away i go.....i think. Do you have one i could just toss on & go? Thanks 2blu442 & Eric

Hey Eric i just noticed that you mentioned that it was made in 72, but came on a 66 425.....um....am i reading this wrong....?

I've got several of them, but they've been sitting a while. So I can't say for sure you could bolt one on and go without putting a gasket kit in it. John

John, thanks, but i think i'm gonna do this one from a local. He wants $20.00 for it with manifold. Since its fresher that will save me some stuff....since our lovely rain weather only allows limited time to work on cars. Of course i would work in the garage, but currently occupied by a custom cabinet build. Anyways thanks, i may look you up for others olds stuff. Good day!

Good Luck working between rain showers! Down here last weekend we had showers on and off. The prediction for this coming weekend is more of the same I've got a garage too, but mines full of car parts, tools, car parts, clutter, and more car parts John

the 2bbls are really simple to work on, i rebuilt the ones for my buddies tripower last year. Grab a rebuild kit & do it.

I have a gallon jug of carb cleaner left over from last year- let me know if you want it you can have it to soak the parts in.

Nope. It could be a stock replacement for an OEM carb.
A '66 was 6 years old in '72, right around the time when things would be starting to go a little wrong, and mechanics would install a new carburetor to cure whatever was ailing (whether it could have been corrected by a rebuild, or a timing adjustment!). Once you get past ten years old, you'd probably find a more generic carb, as the manufacturers would have stopped making the specific one for that model due to decreased demand.

It's not unusual to see carbs with manufacture dates well after the years they are spec'd for, but you never see 'em the other way around !
