Finally! My 71 Cutlass Supreme project....

Thanks Coltonis! Hehe, not the whole engine, just the top end was done. I'm taking baby steps.
Thanks for the picasa tip! I'll check it out.
It's been pretty cold, so I wasn't able to put paint on anything, but I can always pull & paint stuff later
Thanks Junqueboi! Miracles do happen. I think the big difference between this time, and stuff I did when I was younger was taking my time. This was my daily driver through college, so anything I did on it had to be done fast. fast +amateur = not the best finished product.

Regapped plugs & torqued them to 35 ft lbs, put in fresh gas, added a little Rislone to help disolve any little carbon nasties that may have made their way into the motor while I was cleaning it, adjusted the choke and fuel adjustment screws, and she purrs like a kitten. There is a little smoke when I rev it high from a bit of oil getting past the rings, but otherwise she sounds beautiful! 20 in. of steady vacuum. who could ask for more from an engine with over 200,000 miles on the bottom end?
...now on to some of these electrical issues..... it seems every electical contact has developed some level of corrosion...

Did I say electrical issues? That was totally supposed to sound more like fuel line issues....
This is my first time trying to add pics this way, so it may require me to make an edit or 2 to get it right...
For vehicles like mine, 71 cutlass supreme with vent lines, I needed 3 feet of 3/8 inch fuel line, and 3 feet of 5/16 inch fuel line (for the vent lines) to get the job done.
I couldn't get the picasa thing to work, so I put the pics and narrative on a new page on my own site. check it out if you like:
