A little confused about number and location of body mounts (70 442 hard top) I lifted the body from the frame and removed the original body mounts. I didn't document which ones went where because it seemed pretty straight forward. After ordering new ones it doesn't seem to be a matching set? I then found pictures that confused me even more. The new set I have has only 2 solid mounts when I removed 6. There were 6 bolts to hold body to frame and 6 solid mounts for a total of 12 (seems minimal)
The new set has 10 bolt in mounts with 2 solid. The new set has more bolts which is more secure but I want to know what is right or wrong or better or worse.
To top it off I then came across a picture of a 72 A body restoration with a solid mount right next to the torque box mount in front which Ive never seen. Does anyone have any info on this? is the 72 body mount different?
Thornton sells a kit that is also different: They're kit has 4 solid mounts and 8 bolt-in. I haven't referenced the ASM or CSM but Im sure it will tell me something different.
Ill add some pics
