What exactly is involved and what is the procedure of taking the body off? As it progressed I've started thinking of powdercoating the frame and suspension but want to know what the extra costs/problems will be, apart from the blasting/coating offcourse..
WOW! a year allready.. Well, coincidently the guy welding it told me a week ago he is going to schedule her in for this or next month 'cause otherwise it'll still be there in 5 years.
The deal was he works on it in calm periods and I get a VERY good rate, but his new business has now boomed since then..
Anxious to see the first pics coming in though...
It's funny I said that about it going to be there still in 5 years..and now it's already been almost 3 years since the last comment and even 4 since I drove it off to the welder Well..he's been very busy bus so have I and I told him I have 2 more projects that are more urgent so he shouldn't hurry and so he didn't lol.. But it's all in mutual understanding though!! Last month I went to drop another car off for him to weld and I told him to separate the body from the chassis so that I can take the chassis with me and so he did.
In a couple of months I'll have that coated and everything renewed and bring it back when he needs it. In the meanwhile he can continue to weld the body more thorough than with the chassis under it. He says it's about 75% finished.
So...a little progress here hahaha
some guy disassembling it with help from the shop dog this is bad fix fixed also bad and fixed I also got some rims for her too how it arrived at my garage

a little post about progress and a question about my axle this time.
I have disassambled the chassis and had it powdercoated, it is temporarily sitting at my home under the carport I already built for the finished car haha. The girls are also waiting for me to finish it, I guess when the little one is 18 she hopefully can drive it
I have ordered parts from Rockauto which will arrive shortly for the diff. It is in good shape internally so I'm going to just put new oil in and give her some paint, powdercoat the arms and springs and press new bushings in. The brakes will also get completely renewed but thats for later on in the build.
Is this a Pontiac axle, can anyone tel me what model axle this is? I've looked on Google but too many trees in the forest but says it should be a 8.2 BOP? Whatever that means..
As far as I know it's the axle it left the factory with..
