Supremely Gorgeous!
Very nice find and resto. Would love to see more details of how the glasstek hood actually fits. Partsplace or Tamraz? Looks like its got a little droop on the DS front by the headlights. How do you plan to 'level' it out?
Your wheel color really pops! That car will just draw stares when it's done.
BTW, you'll find that the repop 442 grills need to have the tabs holding the bright reveal cut down in order to fit into the stone shield. As they come from the supplier, they won't fit unless you bust the stone shield. Best option is to cut down the mounting tab to just above the spring fastener. This is a discussion that's been ongoing on a different thread for the past week. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...ick+442+grills
Glad to see you're not discouraged from putting another vinyl top on. You did some amazing repair work there on the front dash substructure.

Great project. The repaired dash/windshield area makes me feel better about my similiar situation with my 71 442. Please keep the pictures coming. It's obvious the Olds is in great hands.

My 72 Supreme is the 3rd Olds that I ever bought & owned, and I still have it because it has proven to be one of the best.I've owned over 35 of these,so that says something about the car.It also came from North Carolina to Pennsylvania,in 1987,and was used as a summer car by the previous owner, until I bought it in 1996.The only panel not original to the car is the hood, which is an early Glasstek that I bought from Tamraz in 1995,originally intended for another car. This car is real clean.I removed the glass, and stipped all the parts off, then stripped all the paint off.The body stayed on the frame, and all of the body panels remained in-place,as they were all lined-up,and had never been off,and they didn't need any repair. The bodyman then stripped all the door jambs, window channels, and underside of the trunk,to remove all existence of the original paint, then began prepping it for the new paint.I had all of the molding & trim holes welded shut, not puttied. The only holes I kept were the holes for the OLDSMOBILE letters on the trunklid. It's got 4 coats of 96 Lexus garnet pearl, and 4 coats of clear.I originally planned on making more of a driver, but after I got it painted,I followed-up on the rest of the car. It's been one of the best ones that I ever did,and has grown on me.I ended up using it in my wedding, and my wife even had some of out pictures taken with it,so it's definitely part of the family. The interior was all original & mint, but I have recently removed all of it & bought all Legendary pieces for it.I've owned plenty of 442's,W31's,& W30's,but this car is one of the best to me.

Nice project going on there. My uncle had a 72, triple white hardtop. He bought it new, GAVE it to his daughter when she went to college, then BOUGHT it back from her. Yep, he was the funny guy in the family.
