Wow, you are clicking right along on that project. Looks great!
Thanks for posting the "before" pics. This provides some clarity for what paint code 65 (flame orange) should look like. So many versions of that color on restored cars today that it is almost impossible to discern what is really correct.

Been awhile figure I'd catch ya'll up. Work got in the way in 2020 minus little projects. 2021 was about the same except for the garage I had built. Back to the grind now.
Thrust Bearing issues. Back on track now.
This was a good day.

Yeah that orange looks great! Especially w the black rims and white letter tires!
the tailights and other smalls look nice too. A tip: you can use metal polish like simichrome or similar on the red lens part, it will remove small scuffs and make them look great. This also works on parts like the clear speedo lens and similar ( as if you need more work to do)
next time you see some $800 edlebrocks for bbo send em my way

Few more pieces of the puzzle.
350 I traded for a 455.
455 w E heads I took in trade for the 350.
Clean inside.
Threw some fresh paint on it.
Hopefully I'll get the heart in this weekend.

I just read through your entire build thread; very impressed that you've accomplished so much so quickly, and the paint looks great. You've done in 3 years what I've been at for nearly 10 - and you built a new garage! I got some questions for you. It looks like the car had disc brakes on the rear when you go it. What was the reason for going back to the drums? I'm a little confused about the motor; you started out with a '69 350, then were building the black engine with the Edelbrock heads, but ended up trading a 350 for a 455. Why didn't you use the Edelbrock heads on the new 455? Maybe I missed something. I'm in Houston, your profile says you're in South Texas - like Brownsville, Corpus, where are you located? What shop did you use for the paint because it turned out great. Can't wait to see you complete it, keep up the good work!

Edit: upon closer inspection of the photos it looks like a chevy 10 bolt based on the fact that the vent tube is in the center housing and not the left axle tube. Later (72 - up) olds may have used this as well. I replaced the axles in both of my 72's and I cant remember for sure where the vent was on them, but I think it was still in the tube on 72. For sure still in the axle tube on 71-down BOP 10 bolt.

Believe it is a standard BOP 10 bolt painted like a W27 with a new W27 cover. Real aluminum housing W27 used a 12 bolt cover. Also, there were more "welds/ attaching points" around the housing attaching it to the axle tubes.
