68 442 sports coupe resto

1968 442
sapphire blue DD
black bucket seat
floor shift auto and
ac

i purchased the car before I had children and started getting things done, I felt rather quickly then progress ceased till recently. Took bout 4 years to get back to working on the car but Now I think I got somewhat of a handle on the parent thing and have started working on it again.

got two cars with the purchase both are 68s one f85 and the 442.

the 442 had been rear ended once upon a time and they put a new tail light panel in the car. So I took the chassis out of the f85 cleaned it up sand blasted wire wheeled sanded so on then treated it with por 15.
Now I would have done a epoxy treatment and real paint but such is life...

built the rear end 12 bolt type O got 3.90 rear gears Eaton POSI unit from JD RACE great guy to work with, also upgraded the shafts..

has all umi rear suspension tubular lowers adjustable uppers. And their kit with the Viking coil overs.
front has all new bushings tie rods idler ect everything is all new including disc brake set up..

working on the body now.. have quarters en route and will be starting in that process soon..

Nice! Good luck with the Project - that's a pretty intense effort!

Is this foam required? I’m assuming they don’t sell blocks of it any where would spray foam work as a substitute?

Decided to just run the rear window patched without the foam don’t see it affecting the window or it’s seal later so it’s welded up.

got some done on the core support pretty happy with how it turned out.

waiting for quarter skins still hopefully be here by the weeks end.

thanks! it’s going At a snails pace it seems.
only thing I can think of for the foam would be to help stop movement of the sheet metal under the glass? No idea we’ll see if I have issues with it in the future because it don’t have foam now.

It can be a time consuming project. But well worth the efforts in the end! Nice work! Joe
