68 442 convert..this doesnt look right
So after getting the new vinyl glued down, i put the visor pivots deals on. Then the end bits for the top to latch to. then the long black pieces to cover the top/inside of the windshield frame. It has been ten years and I dont recall if this was how they all fit together? I know the screws for the cover have some lateral adjustability but it seems like they are at their outboard extreme positions....This just doesnt look right...Input from other convertible owners?
Thanks
Tom

The inside edges of the end bits where the top latches to on each side need to be tucked under the long black piece on each side. I won't be able to take a picture of mine until tonight but mine have never been taken apart. Mine aren't pushed in all the way to where there is a rise from the thinner part on the inside edge to the thicker part, but part of the thinner inside edge is tucked under the long black piece on each side. It's hard to explain - I'll take pictures tonight.

Hi Tom,
Got some pictures this morning of my '68 so you can see how those pieces are supposed to be. These have never been removed so, hopefully, this will help in setting your pieces in the right position.

Thanks Randy, It looks like (with your help) moved both of the covers outboard and covered up a little more of the "hook recepticles"
Again thanks so much for your help. It seems odd that they don't seat or fit flush to each other...but yours is factory fresh and we all know they were just guys like you and me on an assembly line.

Thanks, Tom. This is a great site and it's fun to be able to help others out. For me, though, this has been a great learning site. There's so much knowledge here that, to me, is invaluable in restoration and troubleshooting problems. Glad that I could help.
Best Regards,
