Thats so cool man! Wow its really coming along! I'm so happy you decided on doing a drag car, I really couldn't be more excited to see this one

I've been busy myself. Painted the car about 2 weeks ago and startin' to put it back together!

Same old stuff, working on junk. LOL The 64 was running all this last year. But i pulled the 468 out and put a 330 in. Im working on that now. Gonna end up selling it and start the 2 door project.

Go with the 400 engine. track down a dual quad tunnel ram, or tri power. It would be wicked!

About the 330 into the 64? Or the hotrod build up? The hotrod at this point is still a dream. As soon as i get a car to start the project ill start a thread.

So hows the project going? I was out at Byron yesterday and saw this killer Chevy II gasser. Guy built it all himself. Runs mid 12s, but he can still put it on the bumper. That was my favorite car there yesterday. I found a couple video clips of it online. The car is High "N" Wild.

I have been working on it some and also a 62 Tempest.

I sprayed some white on the rear 1/4. I wanted to see how it was looking.
its just that Ready to Spray Duplicolor from Auto Zone. It will get sanded off.

I have seen that nova run at Byron....Damn that thing is scary to watch.

Yeah that car is wild. But i love it! Yours im sure is gonna be built alittle better So you plan on getting yours on the rear bumper? Its looking good! At this pace with all the other junk i have been working on. I doubt ill have my 65 going this year. But Scott (slowolds) just stopped by with his 65 and we tinkered on it for a couple hours.

Looks cool.

I like that you went with leaf springs on the rear, now you got to make a set of those real long traction bars that they use to use on some A/FXers back in the day that are welded solid to the rearend and attach to a crossmember like a ladder bar would about mid point on the frame, about center under the doors.

Dropped stright axle up front would help loose some weight and really add to the wow factor.

Wow its really coming along!

Well, I'm leaving for the Air Force in a month. Please keep posting pictures of it on here, I can't wait to see it at Route 66! It would be perfect for that Route 66 Classic event they had this year!

-Craig

Edit - Just noticed the date when you posted that last post, Sorry - Not on here as often as I used to be

congratulations Craig on finishing High School. I was really hoping to have it running and
bring it back to your school. But life gets in the way sometimes.

65.jpg

I did take it to the Melt Down drags a Byron this summer. I just put it in the
show field. Had a lot of lookers that liked it.

This is close to what the colors will be.

wish you the best in the Air Force , stay safe.

hay guys been awhile since I have been on here.
Happy to see there is still interest in this car.
No real progress on it latley. I bought a car I built in 2007 for a
friend of mine. So the 65 AWB Olds has kinda got put on back burner
for now.
This a pic of the 64 I built. Im not giving up on the 65.
so far I ran 10.95 @ 122 at Byron.

MAKE NO MISTAKE the car pictured is NOT the 65 AWB

Wow, this is a really old thread. But it's very interesting to me, since Wil Fischer was the Olds dealership my dad bought in 1966.
