Nope, it looks like this one. This was for sale on ebay a week or so ago, but the ad is gone now.

Hmm... I guess I better check the online salvage yards. What is a decent price for this bracket?

It's been a while, but I doubt I would have paid over $15.

More goodies came today... Got the hydraulic throw out bearing and clutch assy today.. Looks pretty good..

Anybody have any idea where to get a new bell housing rubber grommet? I bought one for another GM car but it does not even come close to fitting

Any input would be welcome..

Ya, I wish it were that simple for me.. The TA timing cover does not have the bosses on the oil pump (where you mount the generator bracket) nor does it have the boss above that.. So, I cannot use the OEM generator bracket

Did your rover motor not come with a alternator bracket? If rovers used internally regulated alternators just use a rover bracket and alternator

Rovers didn't use Delco alternators. Brackets are different.

The Rover pully system is very different.. 3 belts and highmount system..

I have some salvage yards checking on the 63 Alt bracket like Joe mentioned.. If not, I can fab something up.. just trying to make it easier..

Thanks for all the inputs..

If rovers use internally regulated alternators just use the rover mount and alternator. I never said anything about using a Delco alternator with the rover bracket.

OK, So I am a bit confused on the Rover Alternator vs the OEM.. Why could I not use the Rover Alternator?

I also have the Rover starter.. It is about 1/2 the weight and size of the GM starter.. It the gear seems to be the same pitch, the gear is much smaller .. any reason why this starter should not be used?

Thanks

if the starter matches up with the flywheel, correct gear mesh when engaged, the i see no reason not to use it. and internally regulated alternators are easy to wire so i do not see why a quality alternator for the rover will not work for you. i found denso and bosch replacements and those are supposed to be good names.

Next hurdle.. Man this car is beginning to act like my '37 Dodge restoration in terms of getting parts..
Anyway.. Looking for the fuel tank sending unit/float.. I dropped the tank and removed this.. Well the filter/screen was rotten... So, now I am looking for a replacement and can not find one listed anywhere.

Anybody got any leads on these?

Side note:: There was 2 large pieces of lead inside the tank.. They almost looked like wheel weights but I suspect that they are related to this sending unit ins someway??

They were a bugger to fish out of there... any ideas what these were??

Thanks in advance

I've never seen anything like that involved with the fuel sender, and if it still works why replace it. I purposely take off the socks and put a replaceable filter just outside the tank.

I would ck local parts houae and ask dor a for fuel senser sock. They will ask size such as 5/16 or 3/8 , it will slip on and good to go.

More updates:

TIP: IF you choose to have your car sandblasted... It is VERY wise to remove all the switches and anything connected to the dash AND all heater ducts BEFORE you blast it.. Sounds like a "no brainer" at this point... Wish I had did it.. I will be picking blast media from any orifice connected to my head for weeks...

OK, got all the dash components removed.. I hope to never see another square 3/8" nut in my life.. SOmebody had installed these in very hard to reach places..
Car is completely undercoated with kevlar based bed liner.. (looks real good)

LHT wheel studs have been changed to RHT.. man this was no picnic either...

Now looking for the glove box (card-board piece) Anybody making these??

Pulled the clock from my parts car, was going to install it in this one.. but it does not work.. Bummer.. Not the big of a deal anyway.. Just like the looks of the clock in the instrument panel and a working one would be nice as well

Well.. back to it

Winter is over.. and the car should be painted in the next few weeks.. It's been so long since I worked on it, I am having a hard time remembering all the things I did and still need to do in terms of part sourcing.. Getting old sucks!!

I hope to have it finished this Summer..

Well this project had to take a back seat to some other ones that I had to get done.. BUT, it is back on now.. I will update here with some more pics showing the completed front end and dash painted (color of the car)

1) Does anybody have any pics of the radiator and how it mounts? It seems that it just sits in the lower saddles and is kept in place by the upper core support bracket? Am I missing something? I seem to remember there being some sort of attachment on the sides of the radiator? Anybody have any good pics of this area?
