1969 442 4 speed resurrection

Bought this in the fall of 2012, 1969 442 ORIGINAL 400,4 SPEED M-20, 342 REAR. Started resto- process day of arrival, see attached. Bought this from John Mack who lives in Kansas. He is a great guy and a Vietnam vet. So this project takes on a whole new meaning in regards to John and his service for our country. Looks scary if focusing on the front end or lack there of with exception of poor driver's side fender. But if you look at the floors including the trunk floor, pretty amazing considering age. The rear quarters have identical rust spots which are very repairable. Doors , passenger fender and trunk absent w/ purchase but that's what parts cars are for.

The motor ---- scary in that it had to bored 60 and one cylinder had to be re-sleeved. When I broke it down knew there was trouble by looks of the cylinder walls . Tranny is excellent and so is rear. So 2 out of 3 .

Interior - Dash present but robbed of gauges along w/ steering wheel . No seats what so ever but had an interior just waiting.

My interpretation of the history of this car is that it spun a bearing (probably within warranty) then it happened again (I know hard to believe was those 69 manual G blocks lol) and was parked. Car has original ball joints, and counter weight was still on the 9253 carb, bare steel surface rust on front end parts and brass fittings still on original intake manifold.

My guess low miles, so will continue updates and I have the help of no other than Steve Minore with this educating project. Please feel free to comment where as I am still and forever learning . Dean

Wow quite the project you have there! I'm jealous of the inventory in your garage!

more pics/progress

Here is motor 69 455 out of 88 or 98, which is great factory 365 horse.

Original 400 will be kept on the sidelines for now.

Dash is in and almost completely hooked up.

Front fenders at welders along with one door. Getting there slowly for surely. Dean
