Picked up my first ever project car to restore with my father, a 1968 Toronado. Any input or Advice would be greatly Appreciated. I have many more photos if anyone is interested in seeing them
Looks like she has good bones, but you definitely have your work cut out for you. '68-'69s are my favorite years for the Toro, used to have a '69 myself. Good luck and keep posting progress photos, it'll surely help others on the same adventure.
That car is not much above a parts car. My suggestion is, before spending any time and money on it, look for another '68 that's in better condition (they're out there and not hard to find), and use this one as a parts car for it.
You're missing a lot of hard to find pieces and reproductions are nearly non-existent. It's gonna be good used or NOS.
First thing is get a 1968 factory Chassis Service Manual and Fisher Body Manual. Then a factory parts manual covering up to about 1976. Then join Toronado Owners' Association.
I think your car's had an engine transplant or at bare minimum an HEI distributor.
Will it be a money pit and labor of love? Yes. You may do well to find a more complete car and use this one as a parts source.

I agree - with the engine swap, missing parts, cowl (& other) rust and missing body tag there are much better relatively cheap Toronados out there
