I prepped and painted the Flaming River Tilt steering column.

I hope to get it installed some evening this week.

I’m looking at a top end kit from oldsrocketparts.com (https://oldsrocketparts.com/index.ph...-will-fit-330/) has anyone used this on a 330 before? If so, was it a good experience?

Thanks!

I rebuilt the rear end again and I, apparently, did a much better job this time. The new posi makes a little noise while I’m turning but no nasty sounds anymore and it is very quiet when I am driving straight. I hope this is the last rear end I ever have to rebuild!

My original antenna broke off ( I was not careful removing the car cover). I’m about to take the fenders off so I can get to the motor more easily, is there room in the fender for a power antenna?

Thanks!

Sidetrack Project Complete…..

My welding training project is done. I learned a lot of ways to weld poorly, but but the end of the project I was starting to make descent welds.

I’ve moved the Cutlass back into the garage to start the trans swap and some engine work. I have the 200-R4 and new torque converter ready to go in. I’m a bit worried about the throttle cable/kick down work that is required but I think I am prepared. I will only be doing minor engine work right now as I can not get the parts I want (I really want the aluminum Edlebrock top-end, cam, lifters, heads, I take, and probable EFI) but most of those parts are unavailable at the moment and I keep hearing later and later availability dates. So, I need to change the valve seals as the old ones are leaking like crazy. I hope to do this with the engine in the car and the heads bolted in place ( this rebuild has very few miles on it but it sat for 5 years which I think must have caused the valve seals to fail).

so, with the wife’s car out in the driveway and the Cutlass in the garage, I started looking at things more closely. First off, I seem to have displaced some squirrels…..

LOL!

Ok, I know this will cause some people heartburn, but I am building a resto-mod and I’ve decided to lean heavier on the mod side. I’m thinking about purchasing a crate 383 stroker motor.I already have a freshly rebuilt 200R4. Is there anyone out there interested in the original HO 330 and 2sp trans with the working switch pitch torque converter?

The motor and trans ar finally in and the car is running. I’ve made a few short trips around the neighborhood with the open headers and i love the sound (I suspect my neighbors are not as thrilled).

I’ had a terrible time getting the trans dipstick, oil dipstick, and headers in place since I left those off until after the motor and trans were stabbed back in place.

Headers in particular are very difficult to bolt up tight and leave very little room for spark plugs. I also had to fab an oil dip stick and dip stick tube to work properly with my motor and my car around those headers.

I finally got everything buttoned up, lights reinstalled, an some wiring repairs/cleanup done. I think I am ready to drive her to the exhaust shop and have the electric cutouts installed and the rest of the exhaust built (I hope they are open Friday after Thanksgiving).

Here is a shot of the grandson enjoying the car!

It doesn’t get much better than that!
