1962 Oldsmobile F85 CutlassConvertible
I Guess this counts as a barn find. i am certainly in over my head but i am trying to get this thing back on the road. It was given to be by a good friend. It is running, but that is about it. I will be taking the motor out next week to go to a machine shop for full rebuild. i will get the trans done at about the same time. I have rebuilt the brakes all the way around as well as the suspension. All new fuel lines and brake lines. The interior is pretty well shredded. This thing was in an air plane hanger since the 80's and the critters made there home in there.
The floors have some holes, and i am not that good with a welder.... what metal is there, is really thin and i keep blowing through it when i try to weld in floor patches.
the convertible top is there, but does not work. i am assuming the pump is shot and the wiring may be chewed up by critters. I dont think this will ever be a show car, but i would just like to make it a dependable weekend driver. even with the brakes rebuilt, i am not impressed with their ability to stop the car. so I may consider an upgrade to the brakes. i am also planning to add fuel injection and electronic ignition, which may anger some of the purists, but i am not good with carburetors.
it is pretty crusty for a first ever restoration.. there is a youtube video link below that shows some of the pictures. ill post some as we go.

thanks for the feedback. I am ovipositor starting from a much different place on this one. I don’t think I’ll get to the point where you are at with yours, I’d just like to be able to enjoy it as a weekend driver. My buddy that I got the car from also has a jet fire (didn’t know if you noticed it in the video).
