1962 f-85 cutlass daily driver

I started driving the car yesterday and have already found the tranny going out and the carrier support for the two piece drive shaft is bad. Plans for the car are to get it into a nice driver quality car, ill do a dual reservoir brake master, alternator swap, interior and paint. Im currently looking into a tranny and rear end swap so i dont have to deal with the stock tranny and two piece drive shaft.

Ok, enough already, I think all projects need to stop until you finish the gasser.

I wish I could, I did slow down on the wagon and have decided to save that one for a later project. This one should be a small project, just what needs to be done and a few extras. I haven't even started the nostalgia/gas class car yet, although I already have plans for it, I've got a 4 speed waiting. By gasser do you mean my original 62 cutlass drag car or the car I just described?

so far Ive got the windshield wipers working, bad switch, I took the generator apart and cleaned it up and got that working/charging. reconnected the speedo cable and other small misc. stuff. trying to take it slow and only spend money when needed. also the tranny seems to be shifting slightly better now,and i polished the chrome wheels and they look better but are starting to peel.

I followed joes advice in my other thread and the adjustment of the t.v. made the transmission shift normal. So I'm canceling the tranny swap

I have a ticking sound was quiet and i thought it was a crusty speedo cable for a while. I chopped off my exhaust after the muffler and it got louder and clearly only on one side, drivers side. I thought it could be rockers but would that get louder because i changed the exhaust? also i had the rocker cover off and ran the engine and pushed on the rockers to see if it quieted down and nothing. I am hoping an exhaust leak and not engine related but idk what could be wrong that would get louder because the exhaust got changed. any ideas?
