Interior door handle not opening door

Again, I know what the problem is as I fixed it before. It's the metal clip that holds the rod in in place between. As I take apart the door once again to get to it and reset it, is there a "trick to the trade" I can do to the clip to secure so it doesn't come loose again?

If you haven't already, I would change the clip.... It could be worn, which is common if it is the plastic style.... If it's the steel spring style clip, then the clip and/or the rod end could be worn and then either one or both should be replaced....

Thanks. I got a new steel clip in there. I haven't taken it apart to see if it popped out again. But I suspect that's what happened. You know where to get the rod?

I doubt you will ever find a new one.... Possibly someone on this forum may have some spare door hardware, but you never mentioned what the vehicle is you are working on.....
