How do you remove plastic lens...

...from the gauges. Specifically, I am trying to safely remove the plastic lens from the clock delete. What is the best way to do this without breaking the tabs or scratching the lens?

I was able to get mine off by using an Xacto knife. I worked the blade between the tab and the housing and cut/separated the glue holding it. I did crack one of the tabs, but it's not noticable with the trim bezel on.

Do you think heat would have helped in conjunction with exacto knife?

Possibly, but I would think that heat may cause discoloration/distortion of the plastic before it has any real effect on the glue.

Yeah, good point. Maybe, I could wrap everything but the tabs and use a hair dryer or something similar to heat the glue before using the knife. I'll figure something out.
