Non AC passenger side kick panel replacement
Non AC passenger side kick panel replacement
I'm going to be replacing the crumbling passenger side kick panel in my non AC 72 442. Do I need to remove the glove box to get to the upper cable to vent door attaching point?
Just an FYI for anyone needing to do this. I bought the reproduction kick panel assemblies (made in Taiwan). These have the vent cables, control *****, and lower damper door installed. I am seeing that the upper damper door control cable is a little too short and that causes the door not to close completely. I had to access the cable sheath through the glove box opening so I could get good leverage to pull up on it while locking it with the sheath clamp. But that was still not enough to close the door completely. The sheath is made of flexible metal rather than the OE plastic, so it is harder to bend when pulling up on it.
