4 way power seat
4 way power seat
Where would I look to find the technical specs for the 4 way power seats. The drive belt appears to be “stretched/loose” and I would like to replace the belt. There may also be a missing part and would like to verify I have a complete mechanism. The seat motor runs but does not move the seat when someone is seated. The seat does move when on the work bench.

I can't remember but I think these are covered in the Fisher body manual. There is not much to them really, I have rebuilt many of them. Parts can be difficult to find if you need any but most don't need parts. Most actually don't need a belt. The belt does not fit tight, if it is slipping it is likely because the tracks or transmission is tight and need cleaned/rebuilt. If you have to replace the belt I matched one up to a large O ring and worked perfect. You just don't want the O ring tight.
1970 442 I did in fact find the diagram in a PDF of the Fisher body manual but didn't glean quite enough info from it. The post from jensenracing was the point I needed. Will clean up the rails and transmission and go from there. Gentlemen thank you for the quick reply FYI the refreshed engine was fired up yesterday and now the interesting part of the wiring starts. Still a ways to go.
I also have a 4-way power seat in my Rallye 350 I have the same problem, I have cleaned and lubed both tracks jack screws and the horizontal actuator and the transmission. works great on the bench not so in the car empty seat ok me in the seat up & down yes back and forth no.
